Tell them apart
Syria vs Yemen flag
How to tell them apart
The flags of Syria and Yemen are both pan-Arab horizontal tricolours with a white middle band over black, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Syria's top band is green; Yemen's is red.
- Syria has three red stars in the white band; Yemen's flag is plain.
