How to tell them apart
The flags of Russia and Slovakia are both horizontal tricolours of white, blue and red, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Slovakia adds a large red shield with a white double cross on three blue hills, set towards the hoist.
- Both are 2:3 with the same band order, so the shield is the tell.
