How to tell them apart
The flags of Romania and Chad are both vertical tricolours of blue, yellow and red, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Chad's blue is a darker indigo; Romania's is a lighter cobalt blue.
- Otherwise they are nearly identical: three equal vertical bands of blue, yellow and red, in a 2:3 ratio.
- Neither has an emblem, so side by side the darker blue is the only reliable tell.
