Tell them apart
Mali vs Senegal flag
How to tell them apart
The flags of Mali and Senegal are both pan-African vertical tricolours of green, yellow and red, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Senegal adds a green five-pointed star in the centre of its yellow band; Mali's flag is plain.
- Otherwise they match: green, yellow and red from the hoist, in a 2:3 ratio.
