Tell them apart
Moldova vs Romania flag
How to tell them apart
The flags of Moldova and Romania are both vertical tricolours of blue, yellow and red, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Moldova has its coat of arms, an eagle holding a cross, in the yellow band; Romania's flag is plain.
- Moldova's flag is longer: 1:2, against Romania's 2:3.
- Moldova's blue is a lighter, brighter shade than Romania's.
