Tell them apart
Iraq vs Syria flag
How to tell them apart
The flags of Iraq and Syria are both pan-Arab horizontal tricolours with a white middle band over black, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Syria's top band is green; Iraq's is red.
- Syria has three red stars in the white band; Iraq has green Arabic script.
