Tell them apart
Honduras vs Nicaragua flag
How to tell them apart
The flags of Honduras and Nicaragua are both Central American bands of blue, white and blue, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Honduras has five blue stars in its white band; Nicaragua has a triangle in a ring of gold lettering.
- Honduras uses a bright turquoise blue; Nicaragua's blue is deeper.
- Honduras's flag is longer: 1:2, against Nicaragua's 3:5.
