How to tell them apart
The flags of Egypt and Yemen are both pan-Arab horizontal tricolours with a white middle band over black, so they’re easy to mix up at a glance. This is what gives each one away:
- Egypt has a gold eagle in the centre of the white band; Yemen's flag is plain.
- Both are 2:3 with red, white and black bands, so the eagle is the tell.
